"Old Friendships renewed and loved ones return

Good feelings imbued as our fires they burn

Our future as bright as the Lady's light

The Sun God is born and our hearths are warm

With loved ones we share our love and our fayre"

Yule is the Pagan midwinter festival. Pagans celebrate Yule on December 21st or 22nd. This is the Winter Solstice the shortest day and longest night of the year and the last feast before winter sets in. In times past people could not be sure if they would survive the winter so it was a time of great preparation for the lean months ahead. Their animals would be slaughtered and preserved because there might be nothing on which to feed them during the winter months. There would be fresh meat for Yule.
